Heating shed used as a mechanical workshop for motorcycles
The motorcycle workshop used for the preparation of racing motorcycles, located in the province of Mantua, is large about 400sqm.
The client's business activity code requires to take air directly from outside, the building's energy requirement was less than 35kW, so a 35kW direct launch pellet-fired hot-air heater was chosen, with a control damper to take air from outside.
Thanks to the modulating system and total shutdown the AirCalor air heater works only when needed and adapts to the heat demand, cutting costs and eliminating the waste of fuel. Working with a condensation system, thanks to the INOX stainless steel exchanger, allows the machine to heat at low cost.
Study and project design for heating the motorbike workshop
The following guidelines were agreed upon during the inspection: the expected pellet loading and cleaning autonomy should be about one week, the intake air for heating should be drawn from outside the shed, and the machine operation should be programmable on weekly time slots.
The space designated for the heating system was particularly restricted, in a corner between the wall and the emergency exit.
We made several alternative draft plans for installing the machine both inside and outside the shed, and then agreed with the customer and his installer on the most appropriate and feasible solution.
Direct launch heater installation for mechanical workshop
The complete heating system was installed in one day: the installer commissioned by the client easily connected the chimney and the control damper on the air intake.
The installed 160kg tank is separate from the heater and provides the customer with the agreed weekly autonomy, even during the harshest periods of the year.
The whole setup occupies an area of less than 2 square meters, and adapts perfectly to the customer's space requirements.
The area is kept at an optimal temperature throughout the working day without unnecessary waste: the wireless thermostat turns on the hot air heater in advance, while the modulating system adjusts the power according to the required temperature.
Products used for heating the shed
35 kW condensing pellet hot air generator with 160KG tank
- Weekly programmable wireless thermostat
The chronothermostat allows you to schedule the desired on/off times during the week - Air accumulation Kit (For automatic cleaning of the burner before each ignition)
- Intake plenum with control damper
Given the activity carried out inside the hall, for safety reasons it is not possible to take advantage of indoor air recirculation. Therefore, this pellet hot air heater has been arranged to take in air from outside through a plenum with a partializing damper.
In this case, given the power rating not exceeding 35 kW, no further compartmentalization inside the shed was necessary.
